TOKYO TDC IN KUALA LUMPUR

KLABF presents the Tokyo TDC Exhibition!
Tokyo TDC’s inaugural exhibition in Kuala Lumpur is a satellite exhibition in collaboration with the Tokyo Type Directors Club. It showcases a curated selection of works that have garnered significant attention at Tokyo exhibitions over the past three years, alongside works specially selected from other years. A total of 84 works will be shown, including posters, type design, books, records, videos, experimental works, logo, package & sign design, and branding. This exhibition marks a significant milestone as these exceptional works will be displayed for the very first time in Malaysia and throughout Southeast Asia.

Tokyo TDC was established in 1987 by 89 Japanese graphic designers, under the invitation of Katsumi Asaba. The international competition “Tokyo TDC Annual Award” commenced in 1990 and has been held annually since then. Tokyo TDC focuses on the visualization of letters and words, exploring their potential as information, pictures, and sculptures. The organization prioritizes experimentation and the exchange of design values among designers.
