onDotherhand is a creativity design studio base in Hangzhou. We try to respond to life in a lighthearted and humorous way, exploring the ‘other side’ also ‘’the other hand’’ in our creations, and creating interesting things through books, clothing, and products.

1.「As always」
Photographers:Link;Size:148*210mm;Pages:108p;Print:Digital Printing;Binding:Softcover with two pillows
During the three-year pandemic, time and time again, the sunlight has burrowed through the cracks in the curtains and reflected on the bedsheets, but before I could get close enough to feel it properly, it went from one end to the other and then disappeared.
Everything that happened during this period was like a badly painted picture, crumpled up and lined up to be thrown into the rubbish bin in the same way that I couldn't digest it slowly.
School lockdowns, mandatory segregation, illness, moving ...... and many other things at home that I never knew before, the more I know in this world, the less I seem to know how to deal with it, and luckily there have always been people around me who can listen to what I have to say.
On the last day of leaving the home where I had lived for seven or eight years, I stroked the bulge on the table where I had finally left him, feeling vaguely like I had left a dear friend. After that, I began to observe my body, looking back at the traces of growth on my body. Born in Guangzhou, I went to primary school in Hangzhou, returned to Guangzhou for my university entrance exams, and then returned to Hangzhou for my university entrance exams, during which time I returned to Wenzhou every holiday to visit my grandmother. I spent 21 years of my life bouncing around in these three places repeatedly, and my parents kept telling me from a young age: you were born in Guangzhou, you are a Guangzhou native, and you need to learn Cantonese. But I still haven't developed a sense of belonging to the city I've lived in for 8 years, Hangzhou too, Wenzhou too, and the word "hometown" is becoming more and more vague in my mind.
Some people ask me where I am from, in Guangzhou, I say I am from Hangzhou, in Hangzhou, I say I am from Guangzhou, but where I really come from? I am not sure. I never expect anything to change in the future, I just hope to keep everything the same as always.
2.「Unnamed zine」
Photographer:Aman‘Size;190*130mm;Pages:38p;Print:Digital Printing;Binding:Spiral Coil Binding
After three years of being bound by the epidemic, work and life seemed to return to the so-called normal track, and the life of "9 to 9" began again. However, under this repeated mechanical state, everything seemed to have lost its color. But occasionally, the flowers in the grass and the sunset glow reflected on the cement ground would still make me stop, raise my camera, and slowly turn the focusing ring until it was clear.
When I looked at a series of "scenery around me" images I took, I couldn't help thinking that scenery seemed to be everywhere. We didn't have to go to some scenic spots to travel and relax. Why not slow down and take a good look at everything around us?
In the making of handmade books, I commemorate part of the images to the moment when I pressed the shutter through the act of burning, like a letter to myself in the past and the scenery in front of me. I yearn for nature, but I am trapped in cement buildings. Is it the building that trapped me, or am I trapped by myself?
3.「a little longer」
Photographers:Aman&Link;Size:143*210mm;Pages:40p*2;Print:Digital Printing;Binding:Saddle
In "a little longer", we try to find those emotions hidden benind words in eacn otner‘s lives. These photos are not only the frozen moments in our lives. but also the infinite memories that forever flow in our minds. Those habits and actions that we didn't even notice ourselves are captured by the camera and remembered by the other. We seem to be two parallel lines that will never Intersect. sometimes Slowing down to rest, sometimes moving forward together. We hope that when we look back, we can always see ourselves as young and determined as we were before.
4.「Are we living in a computer simulation?」series products
created by onDotherhand
The first season, we chose the theme of "Are we living in a computer simulation" because in our daily casual photography, we naturally take pictures of strange things, such as banana peels with different shapes on the ground, or dishes just like copied and pasted. When we look back at these strange photos, we feel like we have bugs in this world. These misplaced and unusual items are like code errors in games. So, we are trying to create something fun based on this theme.
