Little Else Press

Short Bio / About Organization:

We are a husband-and-wife team from Japan — a photographer and a graphic designer.
I spent part of my childhood in Singapore, making it my second home. We both cherish the diverse cultures of Southeast Asia.
Our work explores calm and reflection in today’s fast-paced world, inspired by daily life and cross-cultural connections.
For this fair, we present photo books on the quiet beauty of Japan, my return to Singapore after 20 years, and my wife’s culture-inspired zines.
We hope to share the warmth and rhythm of ordinary life, and connect with others through our art.

Short description of publication/work
A photo book capturing my personal journey back to Singapore — my second home — after 20 years.
As someone who spent my formative years in a culturally diverse environment, I returned with a dual perspective: part resident, part observer.
Through my lens as a Japanese artist, I sought to capture the quiet beauty, rich diversity, and everyday warmth that define life in Southeast Asia.
Rather than focusing on iconic landmarks, this work highlights subtle moments, street scenes, and the atmosphere of daily life — shared human experiences that transcend borders.
I hope this book resonates not only with those familiar with Singapore, but with anyone who finds meaning in ordinary places and memories.

13 ways to look up from your smartphone

Artist
Tomoko Koyama

Short description of publication/work
I created this ZINE as a playful reflection on our smartphone-obsessed lives. As we wondered how to distance ourselves from the screens we reach for without thinking, I chose not to make something practical, but rather something humorous and slightly ironic—like a picture book for grown-ups. It features 13 short “methods,” ranging from light chuckles to thought-provoking or even bold ideas.

SIGNS AND GROUNDS

Artist
Tomoko Koyama

Short description of publication/work
This ZINE is a curated collection of signs, carpets, and tiled grounds—details we love and often notice while walking through cities or traveling. The photos were taken mostly with film and phone cameras, giving them a grainy texture that feels nostalgic. It’s as if you’re peeking into someone’s memories—familiar yet distant, imperfect yet warm.

I'll also be bringing new photo books capturing unique perspectives on Japan, along with bookmarks and stickers.
Looking forward to meeting you all at the fair!
