The Klang River Festival (KRF) is an annual, community-driven initiative presented by KongsiKL. Dedicated to celebrating and revitalising the Klang River, the festival’s core vision is to transform the waterway from a mere utility into an urban actor in Kuala Lumpur, empowering locals to take ownership and reconnect with the river.
KRF serves as a dynamic platform that uses arts and culture to unite diverse stakeholders—including individuals, NGOs, and the private sector—to facilitate discourse on heritage, culture, and identity while advancing sustainable socio-ecological goals. In the long term, KRF aims to build a Klang River Network, linking riverside communities in unity along the river’s flow.
