FA–KAE is a collective of artists from Singapore, Korea, Malaysia, and India. Through printed matter and visual objects, we explore the shifting boundaries where objective fact meets subjective truth, and sensation echoes through memory. Taking its conceptual cue from the internet meme “Real or Fake?”, FA–KAE moves through this ambiguity—where reality and fiction collapse into one another, and imagined truths begin to form a new reality.

Work 01
Title: The Pea Princess
Artist: KIM IKKI
Publisher: FA-KAE
Year Published: 2025
Description:
Inspired by The Princess and the Pea by Andersen, this graphic novel reframes the "pea"—once a sign of noble sensitivity—as a symbol of obsessive anxiety. It follows a girl struggling with body image and compulsive behavior, who eventually transforms into peas. The story unfolds across dream and reality, with the boundary between the two left deliberately blurred. Through this ambiguity, the girl’s inner states—her obsession, fear, and hypersensitivity—are visually externalized.

This book serves to remember the gross injustices committed against the First Nation peoples and reminds us of our responsibilities to not only uphold justice but also to not forget the atrocities this current world is built upon.

Title: As much of light (Sundial)
Artist: Arundhati Kartik
Publisher: FA-KAE
Year Published: 2025
Description:
A collection of photographs of light shining through windows at different times of day, coming together to form a pocket sundial. A part of an ongoing research, it acts as references for explorations on the window.
"As much of light as I could take" is an ongoing series of works exploring the window as a poetic object. The series depicts glimpses of light shining and emitting through windows, capturing moments in time. Stemming from personal and collective experiences of gazing at shadows and reflections, it aims to create subtle spectacles of light, capturing those moments of fascination, enthrallment and contemplation.
