We are launching two books by KLABF. First, a mini-monograph of the artist Liew Kwai Fei, with newly commissioned essays by Ong Kar Jin and Ellen Lee. Second, we are publishing Chin Kar Yern's book on the history of food and labour in Malaysia, titled "Modern Pangs: Political Encounters in Food-Making after Merdeka." This full length book covers an understudied part of Malaysian history from 1957 to 1969, examining the ways in which food regimes organised politics, and vice versa.
