GUYDES

Short Bio / About Organization:

GUYDES is a guidebook series by Junsuke Takeda based in Onomichi, Hiroshima.
Like letters from your future friends, each zine introduces local artists and their daily lives.
Printed in small batches using risograph and inkjet, and occasionally offset, the zines have a warm, handmade feel.
We’ll bring the latest GUYDES issue along with items from ENTRANCE, a newly opened space inspired by the same concept—books, zines, postcards, T-shirts, notebooks, and more. Come say hi!

Publication/Work:

1. GUYDES ONOMICHI Series
GUYDES ONOMICHI is a bilingual guidebook-zine series featuring artists living in Onomichi, Japan. Each issue is like a letter from a future friend—sharing the artist’s work, daily life, and personal guide to the city. Printed in small batches using risograph and inkjet, the series reflects the warmth of local creative life. Six issues and a digest have been released, with four more on the way. A complete edition is also in production.

2. CITY GUIDE of ONOMICHI
A compact bilingual guidebook that introduces the basics of Onomichi. Combining general tourist information, maps, local stats, recommended spots, and visuals, the book offers a gentle yet thoughtful perspective—not only for tourists but for “future friends.” Printed roughly in inkjet and finished with foil stamping on the cover, it carries a handmade feel. Originally created as a gift for a real friend living overseas, the book invites readers to get to know Onomichi on a more personal level.

3. MOUTAKUSANDA!!! magazine issue.2 – Poison and Paradise
Published by 1.3h, a small and friendly publishing collective that Junsuke Takeda is part of, based in Tokyo, Osaka, and Onomichi. This chaotic and playful culture magazine explores the theme of “Poison and Paradise” through absurd guides, short stories, magical parties, and strange joys. A4 size, 116 pages, full color. We may also bring our brand-new magazine Deeelay Manners, themed “Slow Quest.”

We’ll also bring a small selection of goods from ENTRANCE, a newly opened alternative tourist information center in Onomichi, co-run by the team behind GUYDES.
These include postcards featuring local artists’ work, original T-shirts, and handmade notebooks using various paper stocks.
Each item is warm, personal, and carefully made.
